The Hartford Marathon Foundation announced the final selection of 10 runners to participate in the 2014 Aiello Inspiration Team.

The team of athletes represent the best examples from efforts across the running community to support health, charity, children & community initiatives and includes Achilles CT volunteer Michelle Currier!

Michelle Currier
A special education teacher at Macdonough School in Middletown, Connecticut, Michelle has helped motivate colleagues to run and facilitated dozens of students to participate in Jeff’s Running Partners at the NU Hartford Marathon.   

She also founded and coaches the school’s Unified Sports Team, which allows children with cognitive and physical disabilities to enjoy sports with grade level peers. 

In addition, Michelle serves as a volunteer guide with Achilles International’s Connecticut Chapter, an organization that partners able-bodied runners with disabled athletes.  Among her accomplishments with Achilles International was guiding a visually impaired runner at the 2013 New York City Marathon.
