Achilles International Connecticut Chapter’s Sponsors & Donors

Without the generosity of our sponsors, donors and partners, Achilles International’s Connecticut Chapter would not be able to support athletes with disabilities in realizing their dreams.  See below how we use the funds that we raise.

By becoming a sponsor of the Connecticut Chapter, you can help bring hope, inspiration and joy to local athletes with disabilities. Please contact us if you wish to discuss your gift or ongoing support. Thank you for your consideration!

SUPPORTING ACHILLES INTERNATIONAL-CONNECTICUT CHAPTER

The Connecticut Chapter of Achilles International operates under the umbrella of Achilles International, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Achilles’ Federal Tax ID is 13-3318293. The Connecticut Chapter is responsible for raising our own funds in support of our mission: to help people of all ages with differing abilities (physical, developmental, emotional, and medical conditions) find personal achievement and self-esteem through participation in mainstream athletics. We write grants, and seek sponsors along with corporate and individual donors. We welcome in-kind partnerships with community organizations whose missions are aligned with Achilles’.

Corporations and their charitable foundations can meet the strategic goals of their social responsibility programs and receive valuable brand exposure through support of the Connecticut Chapter of Achilles International (Achilles Connecticut). In sponsoring Achilles Connecticut, your organization’s brand will be associated with our inspiring mission and the perception of your brand’s social values and actions will be enhanced. In addition, sponsorship affords an opportunity for brand exposure through brand signage, brand acknowledgment on print and web materials, and PR mentions.

Membership in Achilles is free, and through our generous donors and sponsors, we raise the necessary funds for our members to participate in 13 events each year across the Northeast at no cost to them (including Boston, Eversource Hartford, and TCS New York City Marathons).  Even though many in-person races were cancelled or virtual in 2020-21 due to the pandemic, we covered athlete entry fees into races in which they participated.  Additionally, we pay for online coaching when requested to help our athletes with at-home workouts and training plans, in order to stay focused on their goals while in quarantine and reduced their isolation.

In addition, we provide funding to maintain or upgrade current adaptive racing equipment for our team of handcycle and push rim athletes.  Additionally, the Chapter purchases and maintains its own fleet of handcycles to loan to those athletes who do not have access, thus lowering the barrier to participation.

In addition, members of Achilles Connecticut and the general public have the opportunity to fundraise for the Chapter by becoming a Charity Runner for any event in which they are participating. The Achilles Connecticut Chapter uses a secure, online fundraising program with Blackbaud.

Please contact Achilles’ Director of Development & Marketing at development@achillesct.org for information about becoming a sponsor, making a corporate or individual donation, or becoming a Charity Runner.

Thank you for your consideration and generosity.
